Question:
I ordered a few days ago, my tracking number was emailed to me or I checked my order number and located it, but when I redirect to the UPS website it is not live. Are you guys trying to steal my money or trick me? Should I start sending your staff hateful emails and make crazy assumptions about what is going on or just remain calm and start a ticket?
ANSWER:
All kidding aside, please remain claim and simply contact us!
We ship thousands of packages annually and every so often 2-3 go missing before the go live.
Here is the process:
When we ship an order, a tracking number is issued in the shipper's shipping platform. We use their because they are worth billions of dollars and have endless resources to hire the best IT people in the business.
Once the shipping label is created, it is transferred to our shopping cart system where it updates in your order. You can check this order at any time by logging into shopblackbutterflyammunition.com.
That same day, your order joins a large pile of orders leaving our shop via daily pick up. Unfortunately, the shippers refuse to scan each package and only count them. A total count is entered and off they go.
Typically, withing 24-48 hours these packaged are scanned either in our local terminal or in a transit terminal. We have also had a few scan at the point of delivery several days later.
In the event it has been two or three days since the tracking number was generated and it is still not live, please start a ticket so that we can contact the shipper and start a trace.
The following things typically happen:
- Our pickup or replacement driver is contacted to verify where the packages from that day went.
- The local terminal manager checks with his staff, and they look around to confirm the boxes were not set down somewhere instead of going into the terminal for processing.
- If they cannot find them, they cross reference the total amount of orders picked up vs. the numbers that went live.
- They will then contact us within 8 days to respond to our claim.
- During the last five years, 99% of the orders that never went live are either found at the local terminal or go live during this process. We have even had a few randomly show up and go live when they are delivered.
If your order falls into that 1%, it is insured for up to $100 without additional insurance added at check out and your claim will be paid as soon as they make their decision.
Please be patient during this process and remember the following:
- Our business is making fine ammo not shipping and delivering it. We rely on UPS for that.
- The multi-billion-dollar shipping company is responsible for getting it to your door and you have paid for that service. Remember, we do not own them so have no control over their processes, staff or claims department.
- As value added service, we will assist you in filing a claim if they lose the package.
- All packaged are insured for up to $100.00 unless you purchase additional insurance and this includes the cost of the shipping.
- At the end of their investigation, we will either issue a refund or ship the ammunition a second time.
- Once a claim is filed, you will need to be patient until they have time to research the claim.
- Regardless of what an 800 number rep in another country tells you from the shipper, if it's not live, they lost it and their claims department is trying to locate it.
Finally, remember, we want to keep you as a customer so let us help you!
